Filmpremiere „Say hello to Ulla“ - Das Abschlussfilmprojekt der Kaufleute für audiovisuelle Medien Köln

Dear film and culture enthusiasts,

We are the graduating class AVM21 of the Joseph-DuMont-Berufskolleg and prospective business people for audiovisual media, trained by leading companies in the media stronghold of Cologne! For more than 20 years, each graduating class of the course has produced its own short film - so the film project has become an important tradition at our vocational college. This year it's our turn and we have been working flat out for months on the realization of "Say hello to Ulla"!

Making a film is a demanding process that involves many tasks, from developing ideas to planning the premiere. We manage this completely on our own - and although we are producing a no-budget film & are therefore completely dependent on donations in kind and money, we have the big goal of submitting our film to major film festivals after the premiere!

But what is our movie actually about?

One question accompanies us through the plot: when do you have the best time of your life?

Structured everyday life as a pensioner meets chaotic nightlife when long-term student Bene has to spontaneously take care of his decrepit grandma Elisabeth. Contrary to his expectations, the stereotypical grandmother turns out to be a lively partygoer! In one wild night, they get to know each other anew and, between house parties, tattoo studios and the odd flirtation, question which expectations and conventions need to be overturned. And when is grandma's friend Ulla actually coming?

With "Say Hello to Ulla", we want to take the social pressure of all ages off the audience. We want to give the audience a positive feeling by encouraging them to break through existing stereotypes.

On March 14, after a lot of work, the big premiere will be celebrated in the Cinedom Cologne with around 500 guests, to which we warmly welcome all interested parties!
