He has already stood on the stage of the Elbphilharmonie, in front of 5000 people at the Deichbrandfestival and also in the cultural center Kleinbahnhof in Osterholz Scharmbeck he was allowed to recite a few poems. Most recently, he won the German-language poetry slam championships in Vienna's Burgtheater and is thus officially the best German-language poetry slammer.
Now Florian Wintels has finally managed to bundle up the best acts and sets out, armed with rhymes and guitar, to conquer the stages and hearts of the world. His poems are award-winning, his voice angelic and now, fortunately, both are available to enjoy as a full-length.
"Schön, dass ich da bin" is a grab bag of words and music, full of earworms, comforting, but above all a lot of nonsense. It's about the absurdities of everyday life, the desire to fly, doubts and useful tips against them. It is about the light and heavy topics of life, the moderately heavy ones, but also the moderately light ones.
The süddeutsche Zeitung wrote that he is a "word acrobat with an astonishing sense of wit, rhyme and rhythm," the Deutschlandfunk calls him a "linguistic virtuoso," and the audience will merely think to themselves at the end of the evening: "Glad we were there."
