Palestine 1936: More and more villages are rising up against the British colonial power, which is asserting its influence by force. At the same time, European Jews who have fled National Socialism settle in the region. The impartial Yusuf commutes between his rural home village and the increasingly tense Jerusalem. After a momentous event, the young man takes the side of the resistance. He joins allies such as the dock worker Khalid, who sees no other way out than to take up arms in the face of the escalating situation. As personal destinies and political upheavals inexorably intertwine, the situation comes to a dramatic head - a decisive moment that marks the origin of the conflict in the entire region.
