Becket Redfellow (Glen Powell) has good looks, charm, wit and education. But there is one thing he doesn't have: his family's money, which he is convinced he is entitled to. He was brought up to believe this by his mother, who was once intended to inherit the gigantic Redfellow fortune, but was then disowned and disinherited by the family. After her death, Becket is determined to get back what he believes he and his mother were robbed of - but there is one small problem: seven relatives stand between him and the inheritance, which will only fall to him if no other Redfellow is alive. So Becket, driven by the urge to achieve higher things, has to come up with some creative "accidents" to get the relatives around the corner so that they can't fall back on him - because he wouldn't have much of an inheritance left in prison. While he makes his plans, he also has to save face in front of his new girlfriend Ruth. And then there's his childhood sweetheart Julia (Margaret Qualley), who suddenly reappears on the scene...
