Anna Depenbusch cannot be pigeonholed stylistically and certainly cannot be pigeonholed. The German Chanson Award-winning singer-songwriter, who sees herself musically "somewhere between Edith Piaf, Hildegard Knef and Björk", experiments with a wide variety of sounds and genres. In addition to retro pop, jazz and chanson, she also borrows from blues and country. Above all, however, the Hamburg native tells accessible stories from real life in her songs and thus extracts the magic of the moment from episodes from everyday life - sometimes tender, sometimes eloquent, from deeply sad to hilarious.
