Fado is simply in Carminho's blood! As the daughter of fado singer Teresa Siqueira, she has been familiar with this music, which reflects the wistful mood of Portugal ("saudade"), since her earliest childhood. Carminho also has the talent to draw exuberant emotions from deep within her soul and to charge these melancholy melodies with new energy and passion - from burning despair to heartfelt longing and delicate tenderness. Like her compatriots Mísia, Mariza, Ana Moura and Cristina Branco, she continues to develop fado in innovative ways. Full of respect for the original, she carefully shakes off the shackles of tradition and enriches the genre with elements of jazz, pop, blues and bossa nova. But the rich, dark timbre of her penetrating, intense voice always hovers over everything, filling the room, opening hearts and making the air crackle!
