You don’t know the Gruffalo? Then pay close attention! Because deep in the forest, a little mouse is strolling along—and she’d make a delicious feast for the fox, the owl, and the snake. But even though she sometimes feels a little queasy, she doesn’t let it get her down. Out of pure imagination, she creates a dangerous creature: the Gruffalo! “With gnarled knees, a hideous paw, and a poisonous wart right on her face.” No wonder the animals take off running.

But suddenly, the Gruffalo is really standing right in front of her: “Oh, the horror, oh, the terror…”—but the adventure is far from over.
