Once again this year, Hank M. Flemming presents seven verbal acrobats who will compete in two rounds for victory and the Golden Spitzkrautkopf. In this modern poetic contest, the tried-and-true rules of poetry slam apply: only the spoken word counts. No props, no singing, no special effects—just text, voice, and stage presence. Contestants have six minutes per performance, after which the audience alone decides who ultimately takes home the Spitzkrautkopf.

Whether it’s delicate poetry or raunchy comedy—anything goes, as long as it’s original work. Once again, the host has invited renowned stage professionals and new voices to Filderstadt. The lineup includes award-winning up-and-coming talents and experienced spoken-word artists from Freiburg, Saarbrücken, and southern Germany. Top-notch entertainment is therefore guaranteed.

Hank M. Flemming holds a Ph.D. in psychology and has already performed in nearly five hundred poetry slams, science slams, and comedy shows. He has received the Erzgebirge Literary Promotion Prize, the ZÜBLIN Culture Prize, and other awards; he has stood on the podium at state poetry slam championships four times in a row. As a host, organizer, and lecturer, Hank M. Flemming has been dedicated to the spoken-word scene for many years and creates platforms for new voices.

He is also passionately committed to promoting emerging talent and organizes slam workshops, lecture hall slams, and poetry slams, including the Oberndorf*Slam—with 28 performers, the largest slam event in Baden-Württemberg.
