Guido May Groove Extravaganza

Rhythm is a language that drummer Guido May has mastered, no matter how multifaceted and complex its syntax may be, no matter how many accents, dialects, or peculiarities it may have. With his group Groove Extravaganza, he has made it his mission to take us on a journey around the globe. For this concert, however, he stays rooted in the pulsating music of the African continent. For his “African Night,” he’s brought the right man on board: the multilingual percussionist Biboul Darouiche, known for his group Soleil Bantu and his long-standing membership in Passport.

Guido May, Biboul Darouiche, trumpeter/percussionist Flo Sagner, keyboardist Theo Kolross, and bassist Igor Kljujic traverse the continent from west to east, from south to north, picking up the exciting, driving beats that make their music a true Groove Extravaganza.
