Handpan/ Hang - Rhythmus & Klang Workshop mit Mantao (Florian Pape)

Experience the handpan in all its sonic diversity!

In this 2.5-hour workshop, we will immerse ourselves in the world of polyrhythmic grooves
and multi-layered melodies that make the instrument so unique.
Together we will explore how rhythms overlap and interweave with each other, thereby
open up new musical spaces.

A special focus is placed on:

Playing dynamics - from subtle, quiet playing to powerful accents

Tone colors - how you can conjure up a wide variety of sounds from the handpan

Rhythm colors - how variations in timing and emphasis can bring your music to life

The workshop will be led by Mantao, handpan artist for over 10 years, multi-instrumentalist and music producer. With roots in drumming, he brings a deep love for groovy, polyrhythmic structures, which he combines into flowing, catchy compositions on the handpan.

Whether you are a beginner or experienced, this workshop will open up new approaches to the handpan and inspire you to discover your very own sound.

Handpans will be provided on site.
