The concert evening features two high-energy bands on stage: a fusion of contemporary jazz, house, avant-garde '70s rock, and funk.
Iron Cake
Iron Cake transcends musical boundaries: Their sound combines the openness of jazz improvisation with the hypnotic drive of melodic techno, the raw power of rock, and the groove of hip-hop—music that both moves and stirs the soul. Saxophonist Charlotte Joerges will expand the bands’ sounds this evening.
Ich Will Dich Monika
She whispers “we’re here” and screams “we want out!”—between the lines and as a kaleidoscope of musical colors! From the intimacy of chamber music to rhythmic bombast and the rich sound of a rock band, the group showcases its artistic range. Majestic electric guitar, soaring wind instrument textures, hypnotic drum grooves, and a bass line that sounds at times like cannon fire and at others like the gentle murmur of the sea! Avant-garde jazz meets rock! Pop spiced with ingeniously composed instrumental parts—garnished with Dadaist and extroverted snippets of lyrics. No one goes home hungry here!
