Jazz im Bunker / The Music of the Yellowjackets

The new Monday concert series at the Kulturbunker in Stuttgart!

Since the 1980s, the band Yellowjackets has been considered one of the world’s best jazz-rock fusion groups. Keyboardist and composer Russell Ferrante is primarily responsible for the band’s music. Their music features a blend of Latin and jazz, with an emphasis on complex, contrapuntal melodic lines played with incredible virtuosity—yet, surprisingly, these lines usually sound light and accessible to the listener. Mastering this great art has made the Yellowjackets an “Outstanding Group” for many years! Klaus Graf (saxophone), Robert Kesternich (keyboards), Alex Merzkirch (bass), and last but not least, Michael Kersting (drums)—an absolute connoisseur of this music—will perform a set featuring the most famous songs from this magnificent band’s past 40 years!
