Mareille Merck LARUS is the name of the trio led by Zurich-based guitarist Mareille Merck. Since 2026, the band has been performing with a new, international lineup: With the addition of Western Swiss bassist Louise Knobil (Lausanne/Paris) and Cologne-based drummer Hendrik Eichler, the trio has gained two musicians who are as distinctive as they are innovative, with whom Merck brings her original compositions to life. She draws on influences from fingerstyle techniques, lets her rock roots shine through, and, together with Knobil and Eichler, skillfully weaves these guitar nuances into clear jazz structures and memorable motifs. 

LARUS has already released two albums in co-production with Radio SRF 2 Kultur: “Fadenschlag” (2021) and “Stille Wasser” (2023). In 2021, LARUS was nominated for the “ZKB Jazz Prize.” We can already look forward to a new release in the fall of 2026.
