Jeremy Pelt Quartet – Our Community Will Not Be Erased (JazzHall SummerFestival)

“Our Community Will Not Be Erased” is Jeremy Pelt’s seventeenth release on Highnote Rec. Featuring an all-star rhythm section—Orrin Evans on piano and the legendary duo of Buster Williams on bass and Lenny White on drums—the album showcases Pelt’s original compositions, which celebrate the virtues of the African American community and its numerous contributions to the fabric of the United States. At the same time, the quartet’s sound takes a stand against the current political climate in the United States, which aims to erase that history.

Pelt has garnered significant recognition both nationally and internationally for his recordings and performances. He was featured in the *Wall Street Journal* by legendary jazz critic and producer Nat Hentoff and was named “Rising Star” in the trumpet category by *Downbeat Magazine* and the Jazz Journalists Association for five consecutive years.
