Julian & Roman Wasserfuhr have been among the most distinctive voices in German jazz for many years. Clear melodies, an open musical language, and atmospheric depth characterize their unmistakable“Wasserfuhr sound.”

For *Timelines*, the brothers are once again collaborating with two longtime friends: Colombian bassist Camilo Villa (Düsseldorf) and German drummer Dennis Frehse, who has lived in Tokyo for many years. The four musicians have known each other since their early collaborative projects but had lost touch for quite some time. Their reunion has led to a quartet in which musical experiences and influences from across continents converge.

Saxophonist Jan Prax joins the ensemble asa specialguest. He is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary German jazz and captivates listeners with a powerful yet nuanced tone. 

The result is a lively, rhythmically dynamic, and at the same time melody-oriented band sound. European jazz tradition, Latin American influences, and urban impulses from Japan intertwine organically, opening up plenty of space for interaction and timbres.
