Deutschlandfunk and Deutschlandfunk Kultur invite you:
Cologne Congress 2024 - Storytelling against the crisis
Date: March 8 and 9
Time: March 8 from 6 p.m., and March 9 from 10 a.m.
Location: Deutschlandradio, Raderberggürtel 40, 50968 Cologne
Crisis is everywhere. The popular metaphor of seeing the "crisis as an opportunity" seems superficial in view of the major social problems in Germany, Europe and around the world. With the narrative media formats of radio plays and features, essays, documentaries and podcasts, the program of this year's Cologne congress aims to provide a counterpoint - and to think ahead: How can we get out of these crisis-ridden times?
Twelve lectures, four discussion forums and a live documentary performance will ponder this question and offer food for thought. Biologist, author and blogger Jasmin Schreiber will give the keynote speech. Among the speakers are professor of "Knowledge Cultures and Media Environments" Birgit Schneider, essayist Patricia Görg, marine sociologist Tanja Bogusz, political scientist Claus Leggewie and many others.
In the Deutschlandradio Chamber Music Hall, we will be showing a documentary performance from 2024: "It could be so beautiful...How do we shape the future?"
Barbara Eisenmann: "The cow. In the parliament of things".
The Cologne congress is thus also under the motto of the Deutschlandradio think tank.
Further information on the think tank can be found here: denkfabrik.deutschlandradio.de
The entire event is open to the public with Free admission. The KHM Cologne will once again be taking part this year with its own program items and installations.
