Dance Gathering is an invitation from the maiskind community.
maiskind transforms public spaces into places of pleasure where queer identities are celebrated together. The maiskinds share poems and impulses to guide and interact with the audience. Everyone is invited to join in, watch and can also withdraw from the dance assembly at any time.

maiskind was founded as a queer artistic community in Cologne in 2020. The community is inspired by the cultural knowledge of its ancestors. This knowledge reveals itself in many different forms and challenges Western perspectives.

For maiskind, as queer communities, corn becomes a beautiful metaphor: we are all born different - with different colors, shapes and stories - and we are all valuable and beautiful just as we are.

maiskind seeks the shared experience in Dance Gathering because, as maiskind says, "it's not about you, it's about all of us".

Everyone is welcome! No dance skills required, but: if you love chocolate, this is the place for you.

The event will take place on the Museum Square and the roof garden. The roof garden can be reached barrier-free via the elevator.
