With EURO DIVAS, Krista Papista brings a concert between experimental music, ritual and performance to the club. Rooted in her childhood in Nicosia, Cyprus - a divided island characterized by gentrification, capital and tsifteteli music - the Berlin-based artist mixes Mediterranean folk styles, Eurotrash, drum & bass, girl techno and punk. Papista subverts folkloric clichés and transforms them into a feminist, radically contemporary aesthetic. Her shows are infused with theatrical imagery, queer narratives and political acuity: inspired by diva goddesses, cyclopean monsters and biting criticism of social inequalities, Papista creates a multi-layered sound cosmos reminiscent of a psychedelic jet ski ride, from the ancient pink marble village of Salamina to the Armenian stars above Mount Ararat - with a stopover at the summer festival.
