A panorama as diverse as love itself—tender, unexpected, challenging, poetic, and powerful. An invitation to explore the countless facets of human connection.

The program tells stories of love on the empty streets of Kyiv, of the energy in a relationship between two dancing twin sisters, and of a heart-wrenching encounter between two aliens. The films depict intimate moments, family bonds, helplessness, and surprising tenderness. In a time that seems dominated by crises and conflicts, this program offers a counterbalance: it draws our attention to what unites us, to hope, and to our shared humanity.

Films in the program:

• It’s a Date (World Premiere, 2023, Nadia Parfan, documentary, 6 min.)
  A car races through the nearly empty streets of Kyiv at dawn in 2022. An homage to Claude Lelouch’s film “C’était un rendez-vous,” set against the backdrop of the state of emergency caused by the war in Ukraine.
• Growing Old (CH, 2004, Andrea Bürgi, short documentary, 7 min.)
  In this multifaceted yet tender portrait, filmmaker Andrea Bürgi documents the daily life of her 80-year-old mother. Alongside conflicts with her landlords, a meditative dance circle, and playing the violin, she also reflects on moments in her life that have led her to where she is today.
• Ibeyi - Sister 2 Sister (FR/CU, 2022, Colin Solal Cardo, music video, 3 min)
  With energetic choreography and evocative imagery, the two artists of the music duo IBEYI showcase their close bond as twin sisters. The choreography explores both the challenges and the lightness and harmony of being siblings, celebrating in every movement the strength that has developed over the years.
• Splitter ( Germany, 2025, Marie Pauline Bagh, Feature Film, 17’)
  Hanna is a young student who works part-time at a small Greek tavern, where she hangs out with her friends at night. But Hanna is also—and first and foremost—Ida’s mother. In everyday life, the two are a well-oiled team—but when Ida starts school, things begin to change. As she searches for quick solutions to restore balance to her daily life and her relationship with Ida, she realizes that her daughter is growing up in her own way.
• OOPS (Germany, 2025, Sila Kucukoglu, Animation, 1 min)
  A spontaneous encounter, two beings, two completely different reactions. A heartbreaking clash between two aliens.
• Long Distance (CH, 2024, Nadja Tanno, animated film, 6') A young woman living in a modern metropolis has recently started a long-distance relationship. At first she feels lonely, but soon finds herself on an emotional roller coaster. A state she tries to maintain through technology.
• The Blaze – Virile (FR, 2016, The Blaze, music video, 5')
  A light is still on in the sparsely furnished living room of a high-rise complex. Two men are dancing together. Their movements shift fluidly between masculine displays of strength and poetic vulnerability.
• IKTAMULI (Germany, 2020, Anne-Christin Plate, animation, 6’)
  The film explores the conflict between a mother’s love and rejection, and the tension between familiarity and estrangement between parents and children. Everyday scenes between a mother and son drift into the mother’s emotional world: rejection and grief, but also joy and longing.
