Langer Donnerstag - Köln Tag
In the organizer's words:
On the first Thursday of every month (except on public holidays), all citizens residing in Cologne are admitted free of charge to the special exhibitions (new as of January 2019!) and permanent collections of the city's museums. An identity card or comparable document is sufficient as an admission ticket.
The museums do not close until 10 p.m. on KölnTag.
There is an extensive program on KölnTag - especially for guests who rarely come to the museum.
Free admission to the city's museums is also available:
everyone who has a KölnPass
all Cologne residents under 18
all Cologne residents on the day of their birthday
all schoolchildren
For these regulations, student ID, KölnPass or ID card are valid as admission tickets.
