With *Elias*, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy created one of the most significant oratorios in music history and a central choral work of the Romantic era. Monumental choral scenes, heartfelt arias, and dramatic recitatives blend the Baroque traditions of Bach and Handel with Romantic expressiveness to create a powerful spiritual narrative. The choir takes center stage—as a commenting crowd, as the voice of faith, and as the driving force behind the work.
In the Figuralchor Frankfurt’s anniversary concert, *Elias* will be performed together with the Deutsche Philharmonie Merck and outstanding soloists.
