In the organizer's words:
FILUM Symphony Orchestra
Conducted byRobert Wieland
A new year begins—and, in keeping with tradition, the FILharmonie, together with the FILUM Symphony Orchestra, invites you to celebrate this moment with a wonderfully colorful bouquet of music. As befits a festive start to the year, the program once again blossoms in all its splendor: waltzes, polkas, and sparkling rarities from the Danube metropolis ensure a lighthearted, charming atmosphere and the very best New Year’s spirit.
The program features well-known and beloved pieces such as Johann Strauss’s waltz “Seid umschlungen Millionen,” Christian Lumbye’s lively “Champagner-Polka,” Carl Michael Ziehrer’s “Weana Mad’n,” Eduard Strauss’s spirited polka “Elektrisch,” and, of course, other musical treats.
Let yourself be surprised by the musical treats that Music Director Robert Wieland, together with the FILUM Symphony Orchestra, will bring to the stage. This much we can reveal: enjoyment and a lively festive atmosphere are just as guaranteed as a glass of sparkling wine during the intermission.
