She is one of the most extraordinary songwriters of our time, and ever since the release of her double album “HAUS” in April 2024, she has become an indispensable part of the cultural landscape: Katharina Kollmann, akaNICHTSEATTLE. Hardly anyone manages to weave the political and the personal into their songs as poignantly as she does.

In her personal life, she is a singer-songwriter, choir director, and founder of a collective housing project. Her music spans folk and indie rock. She incorporates the work of East German singer-songwriters like Gerhard Schöne just as naturally as the American sound of the “Pixies.”
