Odonische Freitagsbühne

The Odonische Freitagsbühne is a free concert series that takes place every Friday from May to September in Odonien's sculpture park. It offers local and regional musicians, especially newcomers, a valuable opportunity to present their music to an audience.

Free admission, 6 to 10 pm, donations for the artists are requested.

7 pm TAKE OFF TO NOVA A power trio in the tradition of Jimi Hendrix, The Police and Rush. Their songs unfold with many nuances. Vintage guitar riffs à la Led Zeppelin contrast with poppy melodies with an inherent "eighties" playfulness and "coolness". The three musicians show a penchant for jazz-rock with improvised solos.

8 pm this:array play dark pop, poppy wave and wavy sad-core. The trio from Cologne loves the quiet moments just as much as the loud ones and alternates between euphoric noise and melancholic restraint to their heart's content. Fasten your seatbelts for a journey through the landscapes of human existence.

9 pm GONG WAH from Cologne make fuzzwave, a wild mix of distorted guitars, 80ś New Wave and a pinch of synth-pop. In combination with the unmistakable voice of singer Inga Nelke, this creates the typical GONG WAH sound, which unfolds in their rousing, varied three-and-a-half-minute bangers.

8 pm KARLA Duo These are Alexandra Schedel and Nina Flieder, two musicians from Leipzig whose voices blend so harmoniously that they often sound like one. Their music moves between acoustic pop, chanson and jazz and tells with sensitivity and humor about what moves and accompanies the two of them. KARLA tells stories that touch, make you smile and sometimes get under your skin.

9 pm Tjark aus dem Frühlingsgarten tells his very personal stories in his songs, which are both touching and recognizable. Behind Tjark aus dem Frühlingsgarten is the Leipzig musician Tjark Schönball (known from the band BUBE, among others), who enriches the German pop music scene with a small attraction with his new solo project.

7 pm Cosmother have been shaking the stage with their psychedelic stoner space rock since 2019. With earthy force, massive riffs and cosmic soundscapes, the all-female band catapults the audience into universal expanses and only allows one direction: into the void and beyond.

8 pm Crimson Roots draw deeply from the blues and create expansive, haunting music in which progressive structures and psychedelic timbres meet emotion and narrative art.

9 pm Smokemaster is a psychedelic rock band from Cologne. Their music is danceable and intuitive. It combines different styles from the spectrum of psychedelic rock in such a way that the listener has the opportunity to forget everyday life for a moment.

7 pm Matthis Löw Harpist & singer-songwriter Matthis Löw from Saarbrücken is known for his performances with harp and vocals at CSDs, demos, on the street, in churches or at festivities throughout Germany. In his German, English and Spanish songs, he takes a clear stand for an open-minded, tolerant society.

8 p.m. Deivido & Band Deivido, musician, guitarist and singer from Cameroon, delights audiences with a unique mix of reggae, Afro-jazz, bossa nova, zouk, Afrobeat and more. With a band and multilingual repertoire - in Bassa, French and English - he sings about love, peace and education. Deivido sees music as a universal language that connects and moves. His compositions are living stories that touch the heart and soul.

9 pm The Strobophonics Indie-Rock / Wave The Strobophonics from Cologne combine the dark charm of post-punk with the cool elegance of wave. Paired with the energy of indie rock, the band creates its own style: sometimes driving forward, sometimes atmospheric and deep. A band that takes the audience on a journey through light and shadow.

7 pm Amouriis a versatile artist who stands out for his emotional and socially engaged music. Due to his Syrian origin, he produces multilingual songs that deal with topics such as peace, politics and personal experiences.

19.30 Karla Lee has established herself as one of the most up-and-coming talents on the Cologne R&B scene in recent years. Her warm, deep voice and ability to wrap intimate emotions in a minimalist yet profound sound make her one of the most exciting newcomers of her time.

8pm The Flamenco Thief Acoustic Instrumental Craig Sutton, also known as "The Flamenco Thief", is an English instrumentalist who combines fingerstyle and percussive guitar techniques to create a classic-contemporary Mediterranean sound with a strong South American influence. His music combines Spanish acoustic music, Latin, rumba and bossa nova with hip-hop and electronica.

9 pm Milodon Psychedelic funk-rock trio Milodon's live sound is danceable, kaleidoscopic and crosses musical and cultural boundaries. Formed in December 2017 to fuse the three musicians' love of 60s funk and psychedelic rock and 70s jazz fusion into an innovative and utopian musical vision.

18.30 Greiner Rock Greiner want it loud. They never thought rock'n'roll was dead, which is why they never stopped playing it. Maybe it's needed right now: If you look around the world like this, you'll find plenty of reasons to make noise. Greiner start with their own insecurity, the longing for lightness and the desire to expose injustice. Can you assure me that you feel the same way?

20.30 LA FANFARRIA DEL CAPITAN is an Argentinian band that combines rock, Latin American rhythms and world melodies. They are minstrels, travelers and explorers. For 10 years they have been traveling the world with an extraordinary live music show full of emotion and energy. Every year they tour internationally and give 80 concerts in Latin America, Europe, Russia, China and Japan, at major festivals and prestigious venues. They have given concerts in more than 150 cities throughout Germany - and will now be mixing up Heckenbeck in Latin American style for the second time!

7 pm Davids Bejers Philosophie Cologne-based guitarist and composer Davids Bejers presents his latest album Philosophie (2026) live at Odonien. The music moves between modern jazz, indie and atmospheric songwriting - with a sound somewhere between Radiohead and Bill Frisell. Together with a quartet from the Cologne scene, the band combines improvisational openness with clear, song-oriented structures. The pieces range from intimate ballads to rhythmically open, energetic passages.

8 pm DNS Jazz Jazz fusion band DNS JAZZ is a five-piece jazz fusion band from Frankfurt am Main. Bandleader and composer Dennis Sekretarev grew up as the child of a Jewish-Ukrainian family in the Soviet Union, Israel, Germany and the USA. In addition to diverse cultural backgrounds and compositions, the quintet mixes influences ranging from house to hip hop. Virtuoso improvisation meets spherical effects, pounding beats and funky basslines. The result is a fresh jazz sound that is as profound as it is danceable.

9 pm Die Monologen Jazz fusion band Die Monologen move between the poles of free improvisation and rap, creating an independent sound that transcends clear genre boundaries. The band consists of Nazz Nyxz (vocals), Luna Weise (synths), Tim von Malotki (saxophone, electronics) and Andy Hafner (drums).
