Open Air: NORDSEE IST MORDSEE
In the organizer's words:
In the bleak high-rise canyons of Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, life is hard, devoid of prospects, and marked by violence. Here, worlds collide: Uwe and Dschingis are actually arch-enemies whose daily lives consist of turf wars and cramped living conditions. But after a violent confrontation, the unexpected happens—the two outsiders join forces against the injustice of their world. Driven by a longing for freedom and a life without rules, they steal a sailboat and flee out onto the Elbe. Their destination: the open sea. On their journey downstream toward the North Sea, they must not only overcome the forces of nature and their pursuers, but also learn what true friendship means.
Hark Bohm’s atmospheric coming-of-age drama is a raw, unvarnished ode to youthful rebellion and the courageous dream of breaking free. It is an adventure that shows that the horizon only begins where one has the courage to leave the shore.
As part of Cine k’s Open-Air Summer Cinema—July 30 through August 30, 2026. Doors open 45 minutes before the film starts; the film begins at dusk. Weather-proof: no cancellations due to bad weather; the film will be shown indoors instead.
