Souleymane has fled Guinea and is trying to apply for asylum in France. Since he doesn’t have a passport, he urgently needs money to obtain the necessary documents. To make ends meet, he works as a bike courier for a food delivery service in Paris under appalling conditions. He has only 48 hours left until his appointment at the immigration office. Boris Lojkine, who won the Audience Award at Locarno in 2019 for *Camille*, delivers a gripping and moving drama with *Souleymane’s Story* about migration, the gig economy, and life in a big city. For his portrayal of Souleymane, Abou Sangare was named Best Actor at Cannes and at the European Film Awards.
