“Off the Path”
Shihao Du and Tongtong Li (Concept & Production)
Animation, 2026, 7 min.
This 3D animation and spatial installation is inspired by the classical medical text “Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang.” The work follows three animal-like figures—a fish, a pig, and a chicken—who, with the help of an ancient recipe, enter into a direct dialogue with life itself. On their quest for healing, they gradually stray from their course and drift further and further away from the desired outcome.
“Elbows in Shatters”
Danila Lipatov (Director & Cinematographer), Karen Zimmermann (Production and Editing)
Documentary, 2025, 76 min.
One night in Dushanbe. A voice asks from the darkness: “What does it mean to be together?” Through loose observations, Danila Lipatov explores the capital of Tajikistan. He searches for connections to his relatives, who lived here until they fled in the 1990s. Around the Bactria Youth Cultural Center, he meets a group of people with whom he strikes up conversations. The present is embraced; history is touched upon. Snapshots of a temporary community. (Duisburg Film Week 2025)
