What moves children around the world? What do they dream of, what are they afraid of, and what gives them courage? The multimedia family concert *Open Your Heart* invites you on a journey that crosses national borders—and touches the very heart.

Based on the multi-award-winning documentary series, Walter Sittler and Sigrid Klausmann take the audience on a journey to meet children from different cultures and walks of life. Through carefully selected film clips, narratives, and personal moments, portraits emerge of young people who navigate their daily lives with astonishing strength, imagination, and confidence. The stories reveal just how different children’s lives can be—and, at the same time, how much they have in common.

Music plays a central role in this: Maximilian Schairer accompanies the evening on the piano with Robert Schumann’s famous “Kinderszenen.” These piano miniatures respond sensitively to the images and narratives, creating emotional spaces and lending the stories an added depth. Music, words, and images intertwine to form an artistic language that tells its story quietly and leaves a lasting impression.

“Open Your Heart” is aimed at children ages eight and up as well as adults. The afternoon invites you to listen, empathize, and reflect, without lecturing or overwhelming.
