The first duo exhibition at Galerie r8m presents two artists who - despite all their differences - share a precise and lyrical view of the world and the use of unusual means and materials.

"NK Doege abandons the traditional panel painting in order to continue working with its components in space, to play with walls, floors and ceilings in a new way - with flat, three-dimensional or kinetic works, with means of painting or materials from industrial production ...", says the author Bettina Reichmuth. NK Doege studied painting at the HGB in Leipzig and completed his master class at the HfBK Dresden under Prof. Christian Sery. Born in Stadthagen, NK Doege lives and works in Leipzig.

Petra Schmidt studied architecture and worked as an architect before deciding almost ten years ago to work exclusively as a freelance artist. "Surrounded by colors in our environment (nature and culture/architecture/fashion), my works show a reduced section on canvas, concrete and building materials. Between system and intuition, constructed color fields/color compositions emerge," says Petra Schmidt. Born in Essen, she lives and works in Dorsten and Denmark.

The exhibition will be on display until April 19, 2024.
