January 7, 1993, marked the birth of a special party series that transformed Augsburg’s nightlife. The so-called “Crossover Thursday” opened its doors for the first time at the Rockfabrik, a venue known far beyond the city limits. It moved away from a homogeneous mix of music toward a wild blend of all underground genres without any blinders. Grunge met hip-hop, dark wave met metal, and indie met industrial. After some initial hiccups, the night took off in no time and quickly became a Bavaria-wide nightlife magnet—even on a weeknight—something that’s hard to imagine today! DJ NT also got to take the decks for the first time on that first Thursday in January 1993—and is still known today as a DJ at many clubs in the area, as a concert booker for the Kantine, or as the organizer of the queer Lovepop parties! Musically, we’re once again diving into every alternative genre, featuring the sounds that played at Rofa Thursdays from 1993 through 2002, before DJ NT took a break at the Rockfabrik. Get ready for the biggest hits from crossover, hip-hop, grunge, skate punk, alternative rock, trip-hop, German rap, big beat, nu-metal, drum & bass, and much more! Let’s do the ’90s Alternative Time Warp again! Don’t call it “over-30s.”
