The RMS Jazz Orchestra, founded in 1970, is the flagship jazz ensemble of the Rheinische Musikschule in Cologne. An extremely professional-sounding talent incubator and training ground for many well-known musicians in the German jazz scene. Its stars are only too happy to accept the invitation to make music together. 

The lineup reads like a “Who’s Who” of big band jazz: Andy Haderer, Paul Heller, Dave Horler, Heiner Wiberny, Julia Zipprick, Hanno Busch, Claus Fischer, Bruno Müller, Rüdiger Baldauf, Alex Vesper, Karolina Strassmayer, Ludwig Nuss, and many others.

Since the spring of 2022, the band has been led by Cologne-based trumpeter Martin Reuthner.
