KALAMATA is an instrumental psychedelic stoner rock trio from Hildesheim. Massive riffs, soaring guitars, and driving rhythms create a sound that pulls listeners in like a current, sweeping them into a trance-like vortex. With *Zenosyne*, the band presents its most focused and atmospheric work to date—powerful, intense, and full of depth.

With their new album *Zenosyne*, the Hildesheim-based psychedelic stoner rock trio KALAMATA returns after years of change, crises, and being on the road—and at the same time, the band is setting out on something completely new. The album is released via Copper Feast Records (London/Amsterdam) and Made of Stone Recordings (Thessaloniki) and marks the band’s most personal, atmospheric, and at the same time boldest step to date.

The album was recorded in late 2025 at Ingo Bednarek’s studio in Hanover. Unlike their first two albums, which were recorded raw and live, the band took a new approach this time: more detail, more textures, and more daring sound experiments. Fuzz meets fragile melodies, heavy riffs meet shimmering effects, hypnotic repetition meets cinematic expansiveness. Role Wiegner from Tonmeisterei in Oldenburg handled the mastering, and his signature touch lends the album additional depth and warmth.

Musically, *Kalamata* builds on the band’s established strengths—the hypnotic depth, the powerful bass foundations, the trance-like guitar arcs, and the dynamic drums. Where earlier reviews spoke of “massive stoner riffs,” “psychedelic soundscapes,” “hypnotic epics,” or “a pull that’s almost impossible to resist,” Zenosyne now reveals a band that not only masters these elements but also reimagines them. More mature, more intense, more vulnerable.

Zenosyne is not merely a third album. It is a turning point. A look back and a new beginning. A work about time, change, and what remains when everything else shifts.
