In December, when the anticipation is at its peak, there is a lot of hustle and bustle. Between children's shining eyes and advertising signs, it is not easy to find peace and quiet. To slow things down a little and bring the pre-Christmas period to a pleasant close, Cologne storyteller Alexander Bach has put together a short program of stand-up melancholy and stories that take you into the vast, white inner world of those looking forward to Christmas.
These are stories of shivering and palpitations, of cozy evenings at the mulled wine stand and in your favourite pubs, of childhood memories and white skirts. Stories like a warming scarf that protects against the biting cold of winter.
The premiere guests raved: "As a [now] Christmas grouch, the melancholy of tonight was just right for me. Instead of worrying about what I could give the grumpy family, I should remember all those moments when I thought I had lost something essential..." and "Finally in the Christmas spirit!"

Alexander Bach is the "King of Uncool", his stories are quiet, not shrill, and - in the words of criminal biologist Mark Benecke - imbued with an "adult, deep, superheroic, magnificently worded melancholy".
