Seminar: Sprachgeschichte und Literaturkunde_Kompakt (KL0626)
In the organizer's words:
Where does the Cologne dialect come from, and what are its origins? Who wrote in Cologne dialect during the Middle Ages, and why was the Cologne dialect “en vogue” in the 19th century?
The seminar on Language History and Literary Studies explores these fascinating questions and numerous wonderful texts in the Cologne dialect, including, of course, the rich collection of song lyrics.
There are two books to accompany the course: “Et hät noch immer god gegange” and, alternating, “Sag, verzäll ens” and “Och, es dat schön.”
Over the course of five Saturdays, we’ll delve deeply into Cologne literature, authors, and songs.
