In the summer of 1965, on a small island off the coast of New England. Equipped with everything he needs to survive in the wilderness, young Boy Scout Sam runs away from summer camp to elope with his secret girlfriend, Suzy. Before long, not only the parents but the entire town is in an uproar, and a frantic search for the 12-year-old runaways begins. Joining the search—alongside the girl’s hysterical parents—are the town sheriff, the camp’s head Scout leader, and an overzealous social worker.The more difficult the search—accompanied by great commotion—becomes, the more it dawns on everyone involved that the love between the runaway teens must indeed be very strong…
