A guided tour with Irene Franken from the Cologne Women's History Association.
On the 140th anniversary of her birth, the Cologne City Museum in OPEN SPACE is commemorating the Cologne artist Olga Oppenheimer, an important pioneer of Expressionism in the Rhineland, whose work and influence had long been forgotten. The First World War, personal strokes of fate and a mental illness ended her career early; in 1941 she became a victim of the National Socialist "euthanasia" crimes. It is only now that her work is receiving greater attention again.
