Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, deals with the destruction of her home planet in her very own way. On her 23rd birthday, Supergirl travels the galaxy celebrating with her dog Krypto - until she meets the young warrior Ruthy, who wants to avenge her father's death. Reluctantly, Kara is drawn into a dangerous conflict with a powerful opponent and must decide what kind of heroine she wants to be.
