About the event:
How do we relate to one another? As human beings, but also in relation to the living creatures with whom we share our environment. And how do we establish a hierarchy within this environment? Inspired by plankton—the often-overlooked foundation of the marine ecosystem that produces more than half of the Earth’s oxygen—“Swimming with Dolphins” combines performance, installation, and poetry with scientific insights. Who else is there—besides us, with us, among us, above us, beside us?
In this immersive, participatory experience, familiar roles, hierarchies, and boundaries are set in motion—between audience members and performers, between the unknown and the familiar, between individual and collective experiences. The performance begins in the Schwankhalle and leads to Werdersee for a training session. Participants are guided to become “floaters” themselves, to dive into the cold water, and to let themselves drift together. The project is an invitation to “Serious Play”—a carefree yet earnest leap into the unknown. New forms of closeness, exchange, and understanding emerge, transcending prior knowledge. Body awareness, trust, and shared experiences take center stage. Bring your swimwear!
About the Artists:
The Artistic Research Institute of Plankton is a newly founded group of artistic researchers from Sweden, Germany, Argentina, and Switzerland who have previously collaborated in various constellations. They are united by a shared interest in ecological themes, connections to the non-human, practices of embodiment, care, and empathy.

Harm Coordes is a designer of sustainable fashion and costumes. In his artistic doctoral thesis at the University of Groningen (RUG) and the University of the Arts Bremen, he explores the connections between fashion, meaning, and mindfulness through participatory fashion performances.
In her work,Nadine Kunz draws on bodily memories and explores the relationship between the body and space. She works across media—including drawing, photography, digital image composition, movement, and performance—at the intersection of conceptual thinking and intuitive action.
Tatiana Heuman works at the intersection of sound, media art, and movement research. Her current projects revolve around expanding the sensory realm. As a musician, she collaborates with choreographers such as Olivia Hyunsin Kim and Constanza Macras, among others.
Stefan Andersson is a Swedish theater and performance artist dedicated to research, experimentation, and interdisciplinary practice. He is currently exploring the themes of water, masculinity, identity, memories, and stories in clothing and shower gel, while investigating various forms of performance, participation, and collective rituals.

Facilities
All public areas of the Schwankhalle are at ground level and accessible without steps.
There are three different restrooms: an accessible restroom that can also be used by people in wheelchairs, a restroom with three stalls, and a restroom with urinals and one stall.
Audience Area
The audience area is usually equipped with seating.
Wheelchair-accessible seats are located in the front row and can be reserved in advance by phone at 0421 520 80 70, by email at ticket@schwankhalle.de, or by selecting them in the ticket shop.
Special Needs
Special needs, such as specific seats, early boarding, or an additional ticket for a companion, can be specified when purchasing or reserving tickets.
