Once again this year, the Buddhist Center is opening its doors to all interested parties on the occasion of the Wachmannstraßenfest (https://diewachmannstrasse.de/aktuelles/). You can get an impression of how you can use Buddha's teachings in modern life, how the Buddhists organize their center - or simply take a look inside the historic Korff merchant's villa.

Hourly introductory talks, short meditation sessions and guided tours

At 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 pm, you can attend a half-hour introductory lecture on Buddhism in modern life and then take part in a guided short meditation.

At the same times, you can take a 20-minute tour of the interior of the listed villa and find out how the Bremen Buddhists live here and run the center on a voluntary basis.

Statue exhibition, Buddhist literature and a café

An exhibition of Buddhist statues used for meditation, a store with Buddhist literature and the cozy association café with coffee and cake as well as refreshments invite you to linger.

The Buddhist Center Bremen was founded more than 30 years ago and belongs to the Karma Kagyu lineage, one of the oldest schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Its head is the 17th Karmapa Thaye Dorje. It teaches Diamond Way Buddhism, which makes it possible to combine spiritual development with everyday, professional and family life. Her meditations develop inner freedom, joy, compassion and energy. Buddha's teaching is based on personal responsibility and knows no dogmas: nothing has to be believed, everything can be verified on the basis of one's own experience. Among other things, the center offers an introductory lecture on Buddhism every Thursday and a short guided meditation session every Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri, which anyone interested can attend free of charge and without registration. The center is run by the voluntary commitment of around 90 center members.
