Since the summer of 2024, they have been very visible: groups of young, often violent neo-Nazis with no party affiliation, very active on social media, but also visible on the streets. Initial analyses, research, and assessments of this phenomenon are now available. This lecture will attempt to shed light on the complex landscape of young neo-Nazis and answer key questions: What are their areas of activity, subcultural codes, and ideologies? How ideologically committed are they? How have these groups evolved since 2024? Which groups and actors play a role in North Rhine-Westphalia? Where is this trend headed?
