Mannheim-based trumpeter Thomas Siffling has been one of the most prominent voices in German jazz for many years.
With his new project, he is now opening a fresh yet deeply rooted chapter—elegant, minimalist, emotional, accessible, and full of groove.
At the heart of it all are clear melodies, harmonic simplicity, and an atmospheric sound, subtly enriched by electronic nuances. Siffling uses this creative freedom to impressively showcase his qualities as an emotional and lyrical trumpeter.
Inspired by the Scandinavian jazz aesthetic of the Esbjörn Svensson Trio (EST) and the lyrical clarity of Miles Davis, the focus is on stripping things down to the essentials: beautiful themes, plenty of room for emotion, and a subtle electronic touch that keeps the sound modern without ever feeling overloaded.
Siffling is accompanied by a top-notch trio featuring Frankfurt drummer Oli Rubow, Düsseldorf pianist Sebastian Gahler, and Mannheim bassist Tobias Schmitt.
