PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:

We would like to use the colorful and beautiful month of May with its many holidays to invite you to our exhibition at Studio Zehn. The exhibiting artists, Gyda Klepp and Sina, will approach the theme "Behind the façade" in a multimedia way. In addition to small and large-format paintings, there will be live music and textile printing at the opening. The band will play at around 17:00 and 19:00 on the evening and the textile printing will take place throughout. For those interested in textile printing: we have jute bags on site that can be printed for a small donation, alternatively you are welcome to bring your own textiles for printing.

"Behind the façade" invites you to question the obvious and pause for a moment. Every day, we rush from obligation to obligation, passing countless buildings and people without even paying attention to them. In the stress of everyday life, we rarely remember more than the external façade. What would happen if we stopped for a moment? If we gave these people a glance? If we stopped and took a closer look at the buildings?

We would like to invite you to look deeper, behind the outward appearance of people and architecture, to discover what lies beneath. Because behind every façade there is a story that we are trying to fathom.

About the artists:

Sina

Quiet emotions often go unnoticed in everyday life. Cologne-based artist Sina finds a passionate expression for these thoughts and feelings in her art. Through the use of lino printing, painting and drawing in particular, Sina provides a multifaceted insight into these complex emotional worlds. Portraits play a central role here. Viewers are invited to delve deep into the stories behind the portraits and, for a moment, to focus on hidden emotions.

Gyda

Gyda Klepp is a Norwegian artist who has made Cologne her home. Her journey and her exploration of the themes of home and finding a home gave her the impetus to start painting. In addition to small, rather quiet drawings, she also explores the theme of finding home through large and rather loud paintings. Her motivation is that her works trigger memories in the viewer that one wants to recall again and again when looking at the picture, sometimes these are location-based, but often also situational. And even if the current living situation does not convey the feeling of "home", the works can bring a piece of it into one's own four walls.
