Warsaw Fairy Tale Hour
"A long time ago, a beautiful mermaid - syrenka in Polish - made her way south from the Baltic Sea across the Vistula to the banks of the river in what is now Warsaw...". Pupils tell and sing in Polish and German why she stayed there and is depicted on the city's coat of arms. The participating children have a Polish-speaking background and learn Polish language and culture in their home language lessons (HSU). The project is run by Polish teacher Ewa Gula in cooperation with music teacher Justyna Bokuniewicz.
