WORKSHOP: Remote Island – Abenteuer Demokratie auf einer Insel

In the organizer's words:

Experience the spatial game Remote Island! Immerse yourself in a "walk-in computer game" and face the challenges together as a team:
Stranded on an island after a global apocalypse, the players have to complete different tasks independently in small groups. This takes place in five themed rooms: protection, housing, food, culture and work. Through exciting challenges in the respective rooms and stimulating decision-making questions, the participants explore how living together on Remote Island can be organized.
In the island council, the players discuss their results and positions. They make joint decisions on the respective topics and draw up their own island contract. In a final reflection phase, the experiences from the game are compared with the participants' lifeworlds.
How do they see their respective roles as individuals and how do they describe the decision-making processes in the groups? What can be transferred from the game to our social conditions, and how can these be questioned as a result? And where do the participants themselves see opportunities for democratic participation and involvement in their everyday lives?

Please note that neither the memorial nor the permanent exhibition will be visited as part of this event and that it is unfortunately not possible for groups to stay on Remote Island beyond the event.

Participation is only possible after prior registration and with a sufficient number of participants.
