Joachim (Bruno Alexander) is unexpectedly accepted at the renowned drama school in Munich and moves into his grandparents' stately villa. There he experiences an everyday life full of curious rituals, characterized by the charming eccentricity and alcohol-soaked habits of his grandmother (Senta Berger) and grandfather (Michael Wittenborn). At the same time, Joachim immerses himself in the intense and often bizarre world of the theater, where passion, competition and self-expression set the tone. Between stage rehearsals and the idiosyncrasies of family life, Joachim gets caught up in a maelstrom of self-doubt, bizarre encounters and inspiring moments. Along the way, he tries not only to assert himself in the theater world, but also to find out who he really is.
