In the organizer's words:

Amphitrio International Tour - What Freedom Sounds Like

What Freedom Sounds Like marks the 35th anniversary of liberation from the communist regime in Romania and celebrates three and a half decades of artistic freedom. In this context, Amphitrio releases his latest album Timelines, which contains eight tracks combining influences from the folk music of eight former communist countries (Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and Germany). The pieces on Timelines tell their own stories, inspired by national legends or customs and traditions that are central to each country's identity. The album therefore aims to promote national identities by showcasing the authenticity and uniqueness of each country while offering a fresh musical perspective on the cultural heritage of Central and Eastern Europe.
Special guest - Nicolas Simion, saxophone
Amphitrio is a contemporary jazz trio founded in 2020 and consisting of pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, bassist Mike Alex and percussionist Philip Goron. The musicians have a solid foundation in both classical and alternative music. Their repertoire includes original compositions by Andrei Petrache in the field of modern jazz, influenced by contemporary Nordic jazz and enriched with Balkan-oriental colors as well as elements of heavy rock and electronic music. With the release of their debut albums Points and Seasons (2023), Amphitrio began to explore different sub-genres within the electro-groove genre, constantly pushing the creative boundaries. Now, with their third album Timelines (2024), the trio continues to expand their style, offering a more refined and intense musical experience.
Cultural project co-financed by the National Cultural Foundation.
