“Remigration,” “a 180-degree shift in the culture of remembrance,” and “Deep State”—how can the buzzwords of this authoritarian shift in discourse be contextualized historically?
In a short workshop, we will examine the parallels and differences between the nationalist structures of the Weimar Republic and today’s right-wing populist and autocratic developments. We will explore the central components of the far-right worldview then and now and examine the extent to which these are being made relevant in current discourse.
Building on this, we will discuss possible arguments against inhumane slogans.
