In the organizer's words:
The exhibition… so that the sound of war may fade, its roarbrings together contemporary artworks that explore the aftermath of wars within and outside Europe since 1945. The title references Marguerite Duras’ war memoirs and points to a critical process of mourning that encompasses both the personal and collective dimensions of traumatic experiences. The exhibition explores how historical violence continues to resonate and examines the potential of intergenerational and transnational dialogues for a pluralistic memory that also offers guidance for the future.
During the tour, curator Chris Reitz will present selected works of art.
