Baba Yaga: Songs and Dances of Death. Dance with music by Modest Mussorgsky, Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček, Elena Langer and others.
Baba Yaga, the witch from Slavic folklore, or the skeleton woman from Mussorgsky's cycle Songs and Dances of Death are female archetypes. Songs and piano pieces from Eastern Europe combine with Andreas Heise's expressive movement language to create a homage to these ambivalent figures, their joie de vivre and destructive power.
