Cinematic Funk – Live: The Mighty Mocambos

Mocambo Records is celebrating its 20th anniversary. To mark the occasion, there will be a special concert at Metropolis. The Mighty Mocambos will play a Cinematic Funk Special with a large line-up and many guests. The Hamburg label not only enjoys worldwide cult status among DJs, soul fans and in the hip-hop/breakin' community - an important pillar of its work is film music. In addition to the production of funk with cinematic elements as an imaginary soundtrack, collaborations such as with film composer legend Peter Thomas and the release of Library Music, it is above all the often unsung placements of Mocambo songs in film and series productions that will be honored on this evening. The Hamburg collective's music has been featured in Anatomy of a Case, Better Call Saul, High Potential, Second Act , documentaries and commercials, among others. Together with light artist Harm Bremer (Aerosol Light), the label and band invite you to a unique cinematic concert tour. Followed by an exhibition and party in the Metropolis Kinobar with music from vinyl records.
